Locusts and honey

Sir:

Shemales they are called.
Interestingly, they are not as few as one might think.
Inter alia, as I am told, they enjoy great sex.

"Abyss is the human mind" we use to say in Greek.

Who is to say what is right and what is wrong?
Who is to decide what is sick and what is healthy?
Isn't democracy and 'life' itself all about diversity and pluralism?
This is indeed so.
However, the minute we agree to be (and remain) members of an organised society, we also tacitly agree to go by its norms.
One of such norms is that deviant behaviour is acceptable -I would say it should be tolerated- as long as it does not provoke or offend commonly accepted societal conventions (Το κοινό αίσθημα for your Greek readers).
If we do not accept this fundamental principle, the alternative is simple:
John the Baptist has offered it to society: locusts and honey in the desert.
This note is not therefore about Mr. Beatie's deviation; this I respect, as long as the health care system he has used to pursue it is not funded by taxpayer money; something like this would make me a very unhappy taxpayer.
The note is about your decision to publicize his deviation to the millions of readers of your site; to raise his deviation to an issue worth reading about.
In other words, this note is about the role of the media -even those as respected as your good selves- in an organized society.
Mr. Beatie's deviation is respected and accepted.
Your article is not.

Sincerely,

HE Haralambides

PS: I leave publication of the above at your discretion and courage!
